Three things: 1) Prices are high right now in general for vintage bikes & parts, due to the time of year and the current weather (this past Winter was particularly harsh in my neck of the woods, I can tell you that much...). 2) It was mentioned on CR (which almost always drives prices up, up, up). 3) It is a very clean example IIRC. I'm a little puzzled by the price also. I have a Superleicht which I like despite the disproportionately long top tube, but A-D/Puch have never been a very highly regarded marque in the US. Maybe the buyer was really mostly after the black first generation Dura Ace gruppo.

seeing one of these reach nearly this price. I feel dumb for passing on one a

believe the market is really that high for these.<
Another recently sold on eBay for 561.00. Both were the older "flat black"
versions. I've become interested in these bikes mainly due to this list, where I
learned of the disproportionately long top tube on the smaller frame sizes
(near-custom fit for me). I think I paid 135.00 for my frameset which I guess is
reasonable for a pristine 531 frameset. Unfortunately, I was outbid on the black
dura ace gruppo but the silver 1st generation d-a I've been building it with
looks even better on the black frame, imho.
