Hi! This is my first time joining the CR. I've been a part of iBOB on and off since it started.

My intro is that I've been a bike nut since a kid and have participated in many ways in cycling (city-riding, racing and touring). I like all kinds of bikes. I like craftsmanship. I take care of all my own stuff and I'm thrifty and not meticulous or savvy about machines so I find that older bikes suit me perfectly. I do about a dozen outdoor hobby activities, but I do them as daily life, not as hobbies. And I do them vigorously. I find that the old stuff holds up just fine and it feels good, looks great, to me. Much of my most-used stuff is decades old.

For the past 15 years I've published a magazine, website and book-press called "Out Your Backdoor" to promote do-it-yourself adventure and culture awareness. To me this is well-represented by the bikey vibe, which plays a main role even though OYB is general-interest.

I plan to go on the Classic Bikes ride this Sunday 11 a.m. at Kensington Park, near Detroit, MI. It will have a Masi emphasis and will be my first time riding with this gang. Sounds like fun! (I'll bring a mid-80's Atala Pro and a '74 red Paramount.)

So that's my scene! I've heard a lot about you all over the years.

Here's my request: Does anyone know where I might be able to buy a Raleigh Super Course Mk 2, 25.5", green-white, Stronglight/Huret? I'd also like to look at 22.5" SC's of any flavor (60-70's era). I've been trying eBay and I use Google---but I just discovered OldRoads.com and realized that many places selling vintage bikes might not be googleable or on eBay. Any good tips?

Here's a question about Craigslist: When I search for 'bikes' or use its homepage search, the results only seem to come from the SF-Bay list. It looks like there are lists for many cities. Can I search the whole system at once? I haven't used it before.

Here's my eBay auction (starts Sat noon): Armstrong 3-Speed mixte 20" item #6538552679 ---I thought it would be a neat way for someone to show Lance pride around town.

See ya! --JP
