My problem with model airplane paint is that it rubs off when waxing with paste wax. One solution is to use a spray wax, like the old stuff Schwinn used to sell or a reasonable substitute, Lemon Pledge. I like to use a premium automotive paste wax like Mother's or McGuire's, and nail polish holds up much better to that. At least one professional painter/restorer on the list confirms the usefulness of nail polish for touchup, so I'm not totally alone here.

I have found a suitable shade of green (originally intended for plastic aeroplane models) in local toystore here. It's made by company called Ravell. I havent tried it yet, so i cant say if it even compares to the superb properties of nail polish as Jerry describes them. :-)Will keep you posted. By the way - i love it on the bike, but that shade of green on nails? Quite tacky and a bit scary. ;)
