i see outings such as the ones by jay sexton as a voluntary service for the good of the list. i for one am not feeling grumpy at all about an item having been outed from within the obscure bowels of ebay - quite the opposite since i would not have known about the elusive 6 hole 42t ring that i so desperately want. i am grateful to jay this time, as i have been grateful to others who have alerted me to other items i was interested in. bottom line: outings are one of the many benefits of this list.

> Things have been too calm the past few days... This was a topic a
\r?\n> week
\r?\n> ago; and I imagine has been oft in the past: What is the real
\r?\n> purpose
\r?\n> of outing bikes etc bike stuff seen on ebay? If one is not an avid
\r?\n> bidder - and I think there must be exceptions ala eleemosynary
\r?\n> divulgence - why do so many folks choose to reveal items underway.
\r?\n> Nothing earthshaking when under rubric of 'vintage parts' etc, but
\r?\n> when
\r?\n> more hidden in deeper space of ebay.intl. What happened to joys of
\r?\n> finding secreted treasures (and keeping them secret) and to
\r?\n> competition
\r?\n> even among friends and fellow-CR folks? Those who dig (and/or luck
\r?\n> out)
\r?\n> stand a chance of good buys, and those who don't - but likely will
\r?\n> another time - do not. So, I lodge my complaint, however much
\r?\n> grumpily.
\r?\n> Speaking out against plenary outings of cooler things offered from
\r?\n> dimmer and obscure EmBayments.
