Pic of the Day 25th July, 2005
Guy Lapébie at Eighteen
It's always fun to scan through these old magazines and find a picture
showing someone before they became really famous. This picture shows
1937 Tour de France winner Roger Lapébie's younger brother Guy in
1934, at age eighteen, while still just a promising amateur. Two years
later he would finish 2nd in the road race at the Berlin Olympics, then
enjoy a long and productive career in the professional ranks from 1937
until 1952.
