Thanks to those who have already spoke up. I respect this list and try to never break the rules, but I've been pissed since reading the original "cheating" dig a few hours ago. Garth, I've felt your posts have always betrayed you as a twit. From your saga of mangling a Gios pro with a stuck seat post to your constant bragging about beating up on riders on modern equipment (not a hard task on the open road, why not try a categorized race before you run your mouth). Not to mention your usual "touchy-feely" ramblings on the mundane maintenance of old bikes. But this dig at Armstrong takes the cake. Yes, new bicycles are ugly, I agree. But that does not mean the sport of bicycle racing is any less spectacular, brutal, and beautiful then it was in the days of Merckx, Coppi, Hinualt, etc. etc. I'm sure you've worked just as hard in the last 3 weeks riding your old bike around the pancake flat terrain of Miami picking off fat newbies on their carbon Treks as the boys in France! I'm the last guy to root for the overdog, but Lance is a class act all the way, and if you can't see that, and that professional bicycle racing is as alive as it's always been then I feel sorry for you. Oh, and just shell out the hundred bucks for the 30 year old BB you need, it's worth it you cheap bastard. If I get thrown off the list for this it was worth it.
