In my experience, the information in things like Rinard's database, which come from manufacturers, are often inaccurate. Especially problematical is the "effective rim diameter," which depends somewhat on the type of spokes you use, so it is actually impossible for the manufacturer to provide an accurate number. You only have about 1-1.5 mm room for error, so it's important to get it right. Best to measure it yourself.
