And now for something cool and refreshing...
1982 Zweifel and Liboton

The 1982 World Cyclocross Championships in Lanarvilly, France, were plagued by rain and wind. The course itself was mud soup, which hid rocks and ruts and made for a desperately good time for the spectators, but an epic struggle for the riders. Here Albert Zweifel (Switzerland) leads eventual winner Roland Liboton (Belgium) through a sloppy section. Close inspection will reveal that both bikes have flat rear tires, a testament to the difficult course conditions.
Zweifel was World Champion five times; 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, and 1986.
Liboton was World Champion four times, in 1980, 1982, 1983, and 1984.
