what exactly?
I was looking at some frames today that I have in the garage just noticing the differences in them. One of the frames, which is Italian made with nice chromed stays, has spiraling in the bottom butt of the seattube but also has a seam at the backside of the inside of the headtube. Is there anything for certain this seam would indicate as far as tubing used for the headtube?
Thanks,
Frank Phillips McAlester, OK ...that it has a seamed head tube. (Sorry, couldn't resist). Sounds like someone made a frame with an SLX seat tube (or newer if it's an OT frrame), but with a seamed head tube. This happens. All the more reason to know and trust your builder. Having said that, head tubes are usually 1.0-mm-thick straight-gauge tubing for stiffness and rigidity reasons, so having it be a seamed tube doesn't really matter a whole bunch IMO....
