Brooks has a selection of 'pre-aged' saddles, that are basically the pre-softened in it's new re-marketed form. Brooks also added a couple more models to the pre-softened/aged lineup: Flyer Dark Tan Flyer S Dark Tan B67 Dark Tan B67 S Dark Tan B17 Std Dark Tan

They cost more, but take the sting out of the first 500 miles.

A couple of wet rides without fenders seems to work a wonder for me. I don't use proofhide until I want the saddle sealed from water since it's basically wax. best, Brandon"monkeyman"Ives Loves to ride in the rain in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, but never has enough rain
