Subject: [CR]Aging Tubulars in the Wine Cellar

The DISCOVERY (TV cable) channel had segment on the aged tubulars that the Discovery team, and Lance, use. I missed but according to a cycling board this was the essence the piece, "..........So the segment talks about Julian Devrees who manages all the tires for the team. He has hundreds of tubular tires stashed away in a wine cellar. They are inflated to 40 psi and aged for 5-7 years before they are ready for use. He says the glue used in construction of the tire makes it hard. But with aging, the tire becomes very supple. Supple means more comfortable. Supple means better cornering, etc. etc.....". It has stirred some debate.
