Now if he'd ridden the local '10' on a Flying Scot, would he have qualified to be an honorary keeper of the flame ?
Bob Reid Stonehaven Scotland
An amusing aside ; The husband of a friend of my wife, shot to national fame in Auchterarder - given the job of 'Bobby on a bike' community policeman (see <http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/ 4085072.stm> as his last assignment before he retires. He was the friendly face of the G8 policing. whilst built like a brick sh..house he appears to have been fortunate to have the back up of a few hundred Scottish police include two Chinooks worth to help when faced with the extreme anti-G8 mob complete with iron bars et al....
God forbid if the anti-capitalists get bored and become the anti- woven fabric and plastic brigade.
