Subject: [CR]Campy Long-Cage Rear Derailleur question

Ken Firestone asked:

How does one of the old Campagnolo long-cage rear derailleurs, like the Rally compare to a less expensive modern long-cage rear derailleur?

My reply:

It costs more....

Also, compared to an OT $75 Shimano unit, it weighs more, doesn't shift as well, is less durable and is not index compatible (like that matters!).

On the other hand, it also looks much nicer on your vintage bike and has vastly more mojo.
