Outrageous suggestion, was [CR]Solution for stripped Stronglight threads?

Ted E. Baer asked about options for his stipped Stronglight cranks. I'll be totally pragmatic about this, but you ain't gonna like it. First decision fork: Is this a beater or something really nice. If it is really nice, I'd only pull them once, and then visit eBay for replacements. I'm not sure there is anything more common than Stronglight 49d cranks.

But how to pull them off, or how to use them if a beater? Last time I had this problem, I wound up using a (would you believe) tapered fork that you beat on, a refugee from my days working on auto front ends. Remember when you had to pop the worn fittings? Then, if ISO/English threads I'd replace the bb with one of the modern cheapo sealed bb units, clamp down the cranks, and forget about it.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I have two sets of Stronglight cranks wherein someone used the TA puller (which is a DIFFERENT size) thus destroying the threads.

I went to the archives and typed in Stronglight and over 2000 posts came up. I got to the bottom of page 6 (150 posts) and my A.D.D. kicked in forcing me to take a Klonopin.

Right now I am in altered states.

If you owned a 49D crankset and the extractor threads were completely stripped out, how would you repair it?

Is there some option other than the expensive Stein repair procedure? Any links of help would be very appreciated.
