Hi Kirk et al, that is a fabulous Blue Riband you have there. The Hubs look
like Chater Lea to me as is the Chainset.
With reference to previous Hobbs matters- I have a Blue Riband
'Prototype' in original paint and transfers numbered D9732. Mervyn reckons
it to be 1947-8. It has a minimal 2 plate fork crown. ROUND blades and
Chater Lea road dropouts. It is built for single speed, has mudguard eyes
and pump pegs. Interesting detail is the headset which is a combination of
Lytalloy (Hobbs own brand) Continental type screw down race and a small
narrow headclip, a bit like the later Magistronis.
