Subject: [CR]Tyre Wiping etc.

I have followed the discussion of 'gloving' and other sundry antiquated occupations with growing incredulity. I rode a bicycle in Colorado for many miles in 1994 and a lot more before and after in the UK and have had few punctures. What is the problem? It appears that a lot of you are still riding with tubular tyres, which presumably limits your choice of materials. Personally I ride clinchers and maybe get one puncture a year, if that. I don't think the UK is that different in terms of glass or thorns, so, help me, what is the problem? Dupont invented Kevlar to solve these problems, so use it!!
