Pic of the Day Robic in Italy
http://www.wooljersey.com/
Looking very Italian indeed in his pointed-collar Viscontea-Ursus
jersey, Frenchman Jean Robic prepares for a stage of the 1950 Giro
d'Italia Robic had a double contract in 1950, racing for Thomann while
in France and the north, and racing for Riva Sport while in Italy,
Switzerland, and the south. The bike is a very Italian mount with it's
Cinelli stem and Campagnolo "Paris-Roubaix" rear shifter. Front
derailleur looks like a French Simplex, de rigueur for that era. Note
how the jersey appears to be a couple sizes to big for the petit Breton.
