Zoetemelk rode for Gan-Mercier from 74 till 76, for Miko-Mercier from 77 till 79, for TI-Raleigh-Creda in 80 and 81, back to Coop-Mercier in 82 and 83, Kwantum-Hallen from 84 till 86, Superconfex in 87. The last two teams had as directeur-sportif Jan Raas, were essentially the same team and rode Colnago. Zoetemelk became world champion in 85, age 38, on a Colnago. The most beautiful color combo was, IMO, Coop-Mercier on Mercier. Lilac?
In 1980, TI-Raleigh rode Raleigh (of course), and the tubing was 753, unless the decals were fake. Built by Jam Legrand no doubt.

According to the Torelli website, Zoetemelk switched to TI-Raleigh in the offseason and won the TdF at TI-Raleigh, no doubt riding a 753 Team Pro. In 1979, it says he had rideen for the Miko team. Another site had a photo of him on a Colnago, but I couldn't tell if the team was Miko or some previous team.

If memory serves me well, was'nt he riding a Colnago??
I forgot the name of his team, though.

Jerome & Elizabeth Moos wrote: Is this a trick question? In fact, it was in 1980 at age 33 that Zoetemelk won his only TdF, riding for the TI-Raleigh team directed by the legendary Peter Post. One presumes he rode a Raleigh Team Pro made of Reynolds 753.
It's all there on the web site of our good buddy "Chairman" Bill McGann:

OK - here's a stumper! Many of us know Joop Zoetemelk was a 33 yr old Dutch, one time Tour De France winner in 1980 (he finished with a total time of 109hr 19min 14sec) He rode for TI-Raleigh.
BUT!! does anyone know the brand and model tubing Joop used in his lone Tour de France victory? Not only is it a fun obscure question, I also get free shipping from ebayer Terry Porter with the correct answer ...
OK - I promise to tell him I got help even though my ethicists tell me its alright to ask the list - (think of it as my lifeline phone call!)
Anyone have a clue? :-)
