Way back in 83/84 I rode a Raysport, but, my nickname for it was "Rust-sport" rumor had it that the chroming process was done a little shodilly and lead to the rust. I wasn't the only one that had this happen. So, I'd suggest using some type of Frame Saver type stuff on these before you build them up.
There was a discussion thread about how they were being built up, I can remember 2 things distinctly, first it had a nylon headset, supposedly to help mellow an otherwise stiff ride due to the steep angles, and it had Hi-E hubs with Fiamme Ergal rims, spoked radial on the front, and 2 (?) cross on the non freewheel and 3 cross on the freewheel side. 32 front, 36 rear. Really light wheels, FAST!!
It was a great ride, one of the several bikes I reminisce about on occasion.
