Euro-Asia Imports used to have lots of what the C.O.N.I. Manual refers to as a Hammer Pin. I never saw one in use so I made a point of using one on my '60 Cinelli SC since the chain stay bridge had a threaded boss for mounting a fender or (surprise!) a hammer pin. When doing a rear wheel change the hammer pin helps locate the wheel for insertion into the freewheel splines.
