I notice that the Campagnolo Gran Sport front derailleur in the photo has a Simplex cage. A while ago I bought a Legnano with the same thing and just thought the seller couldn't be bothered to look for the right part. Seeing this photo makes me wonder whether this is some demon tweak supposed to give better shifting -- or is it someone else who didn't take the trouble to get it right?

John, Here's what your frame will look like with all the paint removed. The bike shown in my photos is now repainted and lives with my buddy in
Austrailia and he loves it.
