Another CR member wrote to me a day ago asking about places to stay in Madison for the Cronometro Swap this Saturday at the Alliant Center. Since I'm about 90 miles from Madison, and have only been there a few times since moving from Boston last year, I didn't have an answer. I called Arthur at Cronometro at the Cronometro Shop in Madison and he says the Campus Inn, and the Super Eight are the least expensive at about $70 a night, the Roadway Inn is about the same, and a bit more is the Clarion at about $103.00 for the night, and for a very nice place try the Concourse Hotel at about $125 per night.
