I can't recommend too much, but you are building it with tubs, so the obvious choice is the mid-'70s Wolber Junior, with the quick-release base tape ... you glue it firmly on the rim, and the base tape stays there, but the rest of the casing wraps itself around your stays while depositing you on the road, sliding sideways.
