OK - I know that I'm jumping in late in the game here, but when did inch pitch die off? Enquiring minds want to know! I ask in relation to the ongoing resto of "Le Bumble Bee" (as the locals used to call it) - the odd yellow track bike from the last CR get together (I know you remember this one, Johnny). For those of you not there -

From what I heard from D. Crowley - he first saw the bike in the late 60's, but doesn't recall what was on it at the time. A LBS owner said that track had moved away from 1" pitch by that point, but have no solid data for support. Until I can get more data from those that knew it from it's birth - I'm at least restoring it to the manner in which I got it in the late 70'/early 80's for the next event...but I know that the Sugino road crank with the Maeda cog were likely not original! The nice thing is that with the exception of a few odd bolts. I have most all of the original parts from when I got it. The bad part is that some of the few odd bolts and the rims were stolen in a garage break in. Should anyone have a Fiamme 28H red and/or yellow from the time - I'm looking!
