in looking at the pics in this auction, a question came to my mind: do campy pista crankarms have date codes? the crankarm on this bike doesn't. is that indicative of it's date?

The auction counter is well over 1000 hits so far, so I don't think I'm revealing a hidden gem. Jay Van De Velde Seal Beach,CA

This is an odd Colnago. The head-lugs and seat-stay caps are a-typical. The bb shell cutout looks more like a Rauler cutout than a Colnago cutout. I could see just about anything coming out of Colnago's shop, though, especially in a custom job..but the odd stay caps, in particular, steer me away from this.
What I can see of the bb shell and bb detail, suggests late 70s-to-early-80s manufacture, but it's just a guess.
It'll be interesting to see what it goes for. I wouldn't buy it...too many oddities about it for my taste..although that crown looks legit enough. It's worth the current bid now just for the parts I'd think.
