Speaking of a TTT timeline, this company formerly produced bars and stems under the Ambrosio name, and the CR site says they became TTT "sometime between 1964 nad 1973". That's a pretty wide time span. Can anyone narrow down a bit when the first TTT products appeared? The end of Ambrosio is more difficult to nail down, as there is lots of evidence that TTT kept using this name into the mid 70's at least. One anomaly is the Ambrosio bars of which a CR member was selling a number of NOS examples last year. I bought a couple of these. They seem to be late 70's or even 80's. And oddly, they are 26.4 at the stem clamp. Until I saw these, I thought TTT never made 26.4 bars. Anyone know the story behind these bars? The CR seller had clearly stated the diameter, but I don't think he knew the whole story either.

3ttt superleggero bar intro:

Not an exact date, but the shop for which I later worked had them prior to April 1974, in a Merckx bend, up to 42 cm. I considered them as I had regular 3ttt Grand Prix bars, but the price $18.50 was too steep. Spent $15.00 on a used set of Record pedals instead, from a worker moving up to Suppleggeri units.

They did not get them from a typical USA distributor, came from Andre Bertin.

Regarding Campagnolo brake lever clamps, overtightening would cause the bar band to stretch. If this was found, one work around was to install the whole clamp after taping bars, exposing the clamp behind the hood. Never saw that style on Cinelli bars, but often on 3ttt.
