Phil,

The calipers that have merely the "Universal" and not the "Mod. 61", what colour lettering do they have? Red perhaps? Not the standard Universal blue?

That's neither here nor there, just an observation. Comparing the two sets, would you note a qualitative difference between them? In my experience, the calipers lacking the Mod.61 are a later, mid-70's set and were of a lower quality. Plating was cheaper, the polish on the aluminium parts not a good. Something usually found on many bike boom bikes.
