Funny, I was going to ask similarly. Pulled a complete bottom bracket out of 1960's Legnano, with both cups and spindle marked "CON SFERE DA 3/16". Quite certain this designation refers to the bearing size as the BB came with small bearings in an appropriate size Campagnolo bearing race. Cups are thinner, don't have the rifleing in the spindle opening. Very cool, but why? See this wooljersey photo: http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/InterestingComponents

ALSO WANT HELP to identify the Campagnolo hub shown in the same wooljersey album. Locknuts say 62. Can't find these in any Campagnolo catalogue. Bodies look sorta like later Maxicars, but are typical cup n cone arrangement. I just got two Campagnolo bb spindles that I have never seen before they have the press on race but not made out of titanium like the SR spindle it is steel with the words "CON SFERE DA 3/16" does anybody know this spindle.
