hi richard,

there are many products, but i recommend simple green. take a look at the archives under simple green and you'll see several people on the list use it. it cleans and even brings out quite a nice shine. just be careful not to soak the parts too long (1/2 hour should be enough in a very diluted solution), because it is strong enough to remove anodization. i usually just spray it on undiluted, go at it with a toothbrush or fine steel brush for really stubborn grime like on chainring teeth, and immediately rinse thoroughly with water.

if you don't have access to simple green in belgium, find out what the ingredients are and try to get the closest thing...or have somebody send it to you! it really is better than a typical degreaser.

good luck,
