I'll be glad to volunteer assistance. I've also got several flavors of GB stems - spearpoint to Biba - and quite a few of the Aids catalogues in electronic format (scattered from the '30s to the early '70s). The problem with the Aids catalogues is that they are short on pictures.
I was just looking at the '62 catalogue and they show the spearpoint and describe a Kromo Steel Merkens Pattern. From the description, I *think* that is the curved stem that was bid up to ~$229 and didn't meet reserve. (http://ebay.com/<blah>

But generally, the Aids catalogues are short on detail. Perhaps we could post photos of all the types we can gather up and see if the collective knowledge base can date them.
I would also help with the GB bars project and I have a few of those to photo, too.
