bike is the spitting image of another Special that was on the local New Zealand auction site a few months back. Masis with the Guinticiclo lugs do seem to be extremely hard to find. They seem to have been made concurrently with Masi frames built with the dubois lugs... I've always wondered how it happened that the Guinticiclo lugs ended up on Masis, (there was an early 70s italian maker who was somewhat famous for using these lugs exclusively...Liotta or Liotto, or something like that... I forget. I've seen a couple on ebay)..

... anybody know the story about those? I should probably ask Rex Gephardt.. he'd know. <g>

How about an informal pool: how high will it go? Given its rarity, and the relatively reasonable size (too big for moi, but I'm more a 56cm c-t kinda guy), I bet it goes high.

My guess is 3700 +/- 100 bucks. Whada y'all think?

Charles Andrews SoCal (where the colnago ride was fun, even if most of us got lost...<g> My fault. )
