Subject: [CR]Report on the 2nd Annual North American Hand Made Bicycle Show

The 2nd Annual North American Hand Made Bicycle Show in San Jose 2006 I went today 4 March 2006 and was overwhelmed by Great Frame builders from USA and one from England. Steel lugged, filet brazed, and very neat TIG welded frame to be seen every where. Even (way past cut off point) great hand built carbon fiber frames. All these builders were there. on names highlighted in blue for pictures, more information about them, and related web links. Rich Adams Joseph Ahearne

I got to talk with Richard Sachs, Richard Schwinn, Peter Weigle, Mark Nobilette and many others. I saw lug work that was simply outstanding.

Go to http://www.handmadebicycleshow.com/index.lasso

web site and click on builders and then click on their name and it takes you to their web page where you can see there frames. Cameras were busy taking photos. Yes Don Walker stated no phots but no one to enforce it. Brian Baylis had a newly built tricked white blue retro touring bicycle. Stunning with dual retro headlights.

I enjoyed every minute.

Reynolds has a new line of stainless steel tubing that was designed for TIG but are checking out using with SS lugs. And they added a SS rear stay tube. Which allows you to just polish the rear stays and forget abut chain slap. This SS tubing is very lite and matchs Ti and Carbon fiber in weight. Also have built SS dropouts plus other needed bits and pieces in SS

STEEL IS REAL
