Subject: [CR]Picking cinders outta my chin...

Today, I decided to take my Zeus fixie on the road for its first real road ride...not counting the countless trips around the block to tweak and fine tune...well...I ventured into my local small hometown and began a gentle loop through the back roads that bring me back around to my house...the only thing that annoyed me was the sound of the seat squeaking...or what I thought was the seat...standing to crank up a slight rise, I sat again to begin the descent when "SNAP" went my seat post...not at the point of insertion...just snap. The jolt sent me crashing into the downtube and listing heavily to right...I went shoulder first, feet still clipped into the pedals and face to the salt and cinders of the late winter Pennsylvania roads. Good thing was I held the bike upward while sliding and no damage was done...no broken bones either...just a scuff or two here and there...

My seatpost was a NOS Zeus Cosmos. I have used many a NOS item and many a NOS Zeus seatpost and never ever had anything like this occur so I am just thinking it was a flaw or some rarity. Check those parts folks before using....the other good thing that comes outta this is it allow me to write up a nice story for my site which needs an update!
