Subject: [CR]CR: For Sale Alex Singer Ladies Bike

Hi CR folks,

Time to make space in the garage. On the block is an Alex Singer mid-70's ladies bike. A smidge under 51cm to top with a roughly 52cm cc top tube. Headtube is a couple of centimeters higher than the seatlug so in effect a slight theoretical headtube extension. Ladies bikes are more involved than mens bikes - and this one is very nicely constructed. A lot of french cool factor for a great price!

A mix of parts, mafac brakes, huret jubilee long cage rear with campy nr shifters and front deraillieur. TA crank, no pedals, Cinelli upright bar on Cinelli stem with Weineman levers. Has Singer racks (very nice) front and rear. Rear rack is bent in back, could straighten or ignore (unless you think about it or know you might not realize it. Rack construction is quite beautiful. Also has nifty pulley to route rear brake cable that is very snazzy.

Bike condition is scruffy original paint - to totally terrible but not too nice either. Parts are in OK condition, not great, not terrible. Has fresh Panaracer Pasella tires. Bike was set up for my wife to ride around the Boulder bike paths, but she really dosen't use it much. Still could use some fine tuning mechanically and I'm sure the bearings haven't been repacked in decades.

Price is $1400 plus shipping. If extrememly interested, I'll send photos, but only ask for photos if you figure you are likely to buy it if the photos meet your expectations based on the description.
