Subject: [CR]Re: Confente-built detail cues

There are substantial detail features that indicate this bike was built by Confente. While some folks poo-poo such details if the bike doesn't have a spade cutout in the bottom bracket, the fact is there are far fewer bikes that can be readilly attributed to Confente which have an Masi M cutout in it (just a handful built) than "bona-fide" Confentes (over a hundred?) I think a real grail bike would be a 61cm with eye-talian slots cut in the BB and all those detail cues...but I suspect the details (milling, extra lil holes in braze-ons, etc) are a product of Confente's evolution as a builder, so I kinda doubt there's pre-73 bikes with all those details...but it sure is nice to think there could be a couple though. I am most certainly no expert, but like to think I am somewhat well-informed, as my Calimasi (MC61 01) is most certainly a Mario-built bike: this I am told by the "real" experts. I'll leave it to the discretion of them to divulge on list about "the details" if they chose (I would not)
