Once I finally get the tire stretched, I put it on the rim without glue and pressure up just enougfh to inflate it. Then I roll back the tire from the rim in 4" to 5" sections, starting at the valve stem, apply glue to that section, roll the tire back onto the glued rim, and work my way around, until the whole tire is glued. I then make sure the tire is centered on the rim, inflate to full pressure, and let the glue dry a couple of days before riding.

Jerry, Could you go into more detail on how you apply the glue to the rim and tire if the tire is already on rim? (or did I misunderstand?)

Thanks.
