Help appreciated in IDing this large (24") track frame and fork. I acted as
buyer for a friend who ain't gonna fit on it, too big. I started to strip the really bad orange paint and hoped to find a serial number, but did not.
Still, it has these details that lead me to conclude it's British...but wh o? Has BSC BB shell (maybe Cinelli, maybe cast), seatbolt is SAE (that is, not metric), steerer is stamped Reynolds 531, paint looks "Brit", a combo o f metallic green with cream headtube and seattube panel. Not a trace of any
decals. It has Campy fork ends and track ends, very distinctive cast "twin plate" style fork crown, very little venting of the tubes and no vent holes
on the stays, mitered tubes in the BB shell, curved and drilled rear brake
arch and drilled for a front brake, too. Somebody who *may* or may not kno w a thing or two declared it was a Geoffrey Butler (not a Claud) but I can' t find any pics of Geoff's track iron to compare to this. I've posted 7 pic s to a photobucket, use this password to access the whole album: CRlist http://photobucket.com/albums/g135/unworthy1/ Thanks in advance, Alan Goldsworthy SF, CA
