The Tipo Roma was top of the line, usually with Campy's top gruppo of the period. The Gran Premio was a less expensive model with less expensive components. Tipo Roma used top quality alloy steel tubing, although not always 531. The Gran Premio was lesser tubing, but I'm not sure whether just carbon steel, or sometime a but better.

What's the difference between a Legnano Roma and a Gran Premio?

Also any idea when steel Legnano panto'd hubs started and aluminium ones took over, or did they run

concurrently?

Thanks
