All this talk of clips and straps makes my feet hurt. I don't have the vast experience many of you do with clips and straps, but the few years I rode them are better forgotten. However, I did wear combat boots longer than most of you and the combination of combat boots at work and riding with clips and straps on the bike produced enough foot burn to send me to the surgeon. I had a Morton's Neuroma removed from my right foot fifteen years ago, no more burn. If you like them and you don't have that "burn", then by all means enjoy. If you have the "burn" you might consider something else. For me, I'm with Tom Sanders, clipless pedals, particularly the ones with lots of float, are heaven. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL

Howard, I'll have to say a "Amen" to Bata Biker. I bought 2 NOS pairs from a guy on EBAY a couple of months ago for around $25. I ride them for miles with my clips and platform pedals and love them. I also have a pair of leather "Dexter" bowling shoes from years back and ride with them also. My feet don't swell up or burn, but the best about them is that there's no "smell".
