Ken: I actually saw that very thing this past weekend. Ti and wool. It was a cold rainy 200K brevet. They were thinking "I'm gonna get wet. I'll wear wool and stay warm." There was old school and new school riding together with randonneur camaraderie. I'm hook and hope I can hang with 'em. Ride On Garth!

Maybe they like fiber? Or realize the technical superiority of wool as compared to warm and slimy in summer/freezing and wet in winter cplastic jerseys?

Blathering on about how people dress is so 11th grade 'who's the real punk rocker in our crew' crap. Can we all control ourselves?

Where I wear wool and (gasp!) ride a Wicked Fat Chance! And a (oh god...) a Benotto fixie! Oh the humanity.

Being a poseur, classic or otherwise, is not easy. Especially with the vintage stuff. Oh, it's one thing to buy a 1971 Harry Quinn. And decid e when you repaint to do it in maybe an Austin Healey-esque blue. That's easy. But then you are confronted with the problem of find the right co-ordinating wool jersey to wear with it. Harry Quinn did have a team d id they not c. 1962??? Something with Castol Everyman oil?? Anywa y, 'tis a problem if you want, as all cyclist poseurs must, the "nod". But it's helpful to see VintageVelos coming out with plain black wool jerseys. Al l black with Austin Healey blue.. now that might be nod-worthy afterall. ..

What I can't abide are cross-generational poseurs... the VintageVelo

Molteni jerseys on Treks and Litespeeds. That's confused posing at its worst. Wear wool but ride carbon fibre. What can they be thinking?
