Subject: [CR]Economic feasability of shipping complete tandem from UK to USA?

Lynn Travers was kind enough to show me this UK eBay auction for an older (i.e. circa 1960s) LeJeune tandem. If the link doesn't work, try to search for item # 723565779 :

http://ebay.com/<blah

It's not that great a bike but it looks "fun" and would be interesting to a fair number of people on this list. It appears to me that this bike will go for a really low price. So the question is, if an American were to bid on this thing and win the auction, how would he or she get it to the States? Would it even be feasable, economically?

I mean, when I was visiting LeJeune in 1983, the cost of shipping one bare tandem _frame_ on a private, individual basis was over 300 dollars. So, is there hope or do we just let this go to a British bidder for 30 or 40 pounds? Cheers, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
