British frames were the best for many years its a pity our equipment didn't match up to their standards. Yeah give me an old Brit frame with a TA chainset and Campag Gran Sport gears.

Here he goes again, me , not Frank! However I've got to disagree with Frank and his comment on the standards of British equipment.I have to say in my experience the accessories in the 1950/60's was of a very high standard. Who could fault Chater Lea pedals, hubs , Williams chain sets, Dunlop rims and tyres, Sturmey Archer hub gears and Bayliss Wiley hubs, bottom brackets and headsets, but to name a few. It was because of the attraction to French and Italian equipment by those who could afford it that probably lead to why the British equipment ceased to exsist . I however I have to agree some of the French equipment such as TA and Stronglight etc.did attract me as a substitute when our own parts were
no longer available.
