I noticed the picture too. The first thing I did was get a good squint going and it looks like the downtube does indeed say Mariposa. Looks like it might be of an on-topic vintage as well.
I am a big fan on David (Brintoni) Brinton's illustrations. If you look at the letters section of the same issue you will see a letter to that effect.
