Subject: [CR]5 Ebay auctions of mine for bikes compromised

Just a quick note to the CR membership that in the event that you were one of the bidders on one of the following 5 bikes of mine that were up for sale on ebay, please do not respond to any possible offers to sell them, as the ebay web-site was compromised. The bikes are:

7237435717 Rauler, 80's w/ Internal cables, Campagnolo, 50 cm C/C 7237431101 Virtually unused 80's Rauler, Campagnolo gruppo 60.5 cm 7236656534 Vintage 1950's Italian bike (Campagnolo Gran Sport) 7236644602 1980's Alberti, Campagnolo gruppo. 55 cm by 55.5 cm C/C 7236638697 80's Pantographed Colnago Mexico, Campagnolo 55 cm C/C

Apparently, somebody was able to hack the ebay system and cancel out a number of bids and then set about sending emails to those whose bids were cancelled, offering them the bikes at a reduced price. The ebay security center has informed me that my ebay account is apparently secure and they are trying to pinpoint how the hackers entered the system. So if you had bid on one of these bikes and had your bid cancelled and subsequently received an offer to sell you the bike, please send me a copy of the email that you received as well as to spoof@ebay.com
