Hi Cory, Here are two home done (and not so great, I must admit) exploded view photos of a 1983 Campy 50th Anniversary rear that should be pretty much the same assembly design: <http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/Torpado_1984_SLX_Campagnolo_50th/Torp84SLX5 0thGruppo_RrDer01> <http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/Torpado_1984_SLX_Campagnolo_50th/Torp84SLX5 0thGruppo_RrDer02>
Man ... I've GOT to shorten those URLs! Click on each pic to view the larger versions, if needed. It's clear to me that the photos alone are not quite clear enough :), especially given that I was trying to stay close while fitting everything into the camera's view. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask.

Hello CR list!
I've never posted on this list before, but you might recognize my name from occasional postings if you also subscribe to the frame builders list. It was cool to meet some of you when I attended the Friday outdoor session at the second Velo Rendezvous in 2002.
My somewhat classic rig is a Guerciotti that my brother picked up at the factory in Milan for me when he was there in 1984. It hasn't seen a whole lot of miles, probably 1,500, but I'm realizing it's time to show it some love since some components have never been serviced since installation in '84. The Campy NR rear der. (1020/A) finally got some attention yesterday when I took it off the frame and removed the pulley wheels. I didn't want to force it when I tried to unscrew the upper pivot that controls taking up the chain slack. It's got a hole to stick the 6mm hex in, but I can't tell from the diagrams and pics if that is a threaded bolt or just a pressed in pin. Maybe I need to disengage that spring first somehow?
How does one go about servicing this derailler?
How far can/should one go in disassembling it for cleaning and servicing?
I've already downloaded the 1982 and 1984 campy catalogs off the campyonly.com site and I've printed out the exploded diagrams/pics.
Thanks for any help,
Cory Eagar
