I agree with Steve, except I have little 10 mm with 6 points that works really nice from the side, at least with Brooks and most Selle Italia. The Brooks (and Ideale)skirts can be lifted for a good reach to the bolt head, then you can get almost a full turn on each bolt. Many Selle Italias (not all!!) have cutaway skirts that let you just reach in. Of course, saddles with a big cutaway like Italia Trans-Ams let you stick a socket wrench in from the top!
I have a Park version of the Campy wrench, and it is rarely useful with these techniques.

I find the 2-bolt seatposts quite easy to use and set up. John's description of how to best make it work corresponds very closely to mine. The sole thing that I would add is that I have a 10 mm wrench with a closed head with 12 indents (which doubles the chances of finding a perfect fit even if only tightening from behind between the rails.) Personally, I find it to be better than the purpose-built Campagnolo wrench. Using this wrench the Campagnolo design becomes simple, fast and permanent. I can't ask for anything more.
