Hi Louis:

Thanks for the feedback. You have me thinking!

I am not quite sure I understand your idea here. How does listing on the web page who is coming affect those who can not come? The idea of listing the signups is so that: A. everyone can see who is attending, get jazzed and maybe motivated to join in. B. help folks see that we in fact received their registration materials. C. So folks can see how full events are getting so that they can either get it together to sign up fast or realize that they missed the boat.

As far as trying to make it a guaranteed it being an easy "slide in" for folks who are on the fence about coming... Hmm, I am not sure that is the way one could plan an event like this that takes this much work.

<< Particularly, the auction sign-up makes no sense. Why not have it somewhere where anyone can come? Outside, if necessary. Limiting attendance at the auction not only is very discouraging for potential attendees, it also will necessarily reduce the prices received on some items. >>

The auction space is physically limited to 150 people. These last few years I doubt we could have fit in more than 75 people in the auction space. Iwill be surprised if we get 150 this time! If we reach that that number we can always move it next time again and expand it. But I need some idea in advance if I am to feed and manage this group. Going outside is a great idea except if it rains, the whole event is washed away! So....

<< Dumb idea. >>

Ha! Well, John Pergolizzi, Scott Ramsay, Ken Toda, John Barron, Lou Deeter, Harv Sachs and I have been trying to work it out for everyone so I guess we are guilty!

<< This would be my third Cirque. But I am not going to drive twelve hours when I know I can't even attend the auction. >>

Hey, I will save a space for you, dude!

Thanks again because for sure wer probably missed some angle or miscalculateed some aspect but we are trying! None of us are pros at this!

Hope to see you soon,

Dale

Frankly, I think this public sign-up thing is a bad idea. Many people, I am sure, just have too many things pending to guarantee that they can come.

Particularly, the auction sign-up makes no sense. Why not have it somewhere where anyone can come? Outside, if necessary. Limiting attendance at the auction not only is very discouraging for potential attendees, it also will necessarily reduce the prices received on some items.

Dumb idea.

This would be my third Cirque. But I am not going to drive twelve hours when I know I can't even attend the auction.
