I missed most of the posts dissing shorty fenders... just as well.

I love them, purely for appearances-sake. They make the perfect finish detail for certain bikes, and I have them on a number of bikes. If all they do is add a certain panache to a bike, they're worth the price of admission. As to whether they actually protect you from the elements..who cares? The bikes I have them on, I wouldn't ride in the wet anyway.
