Subject: [CR]Cirque Auction: 24.5 Stan Pike Frame

I've posted some pics of my Stan Pike Audax frame that I will put up for auction at Cirque.

This one hurts, but I need some room and I’ve got another Stan Pike to comfort me. There’s a bit of history with this one. It was offered to me as a reclamation project. The bike had been in a front ender, and the top and down tubes were tweaked at the head lugs. I had the seller send the bike to Bob Jackson’s for evaluation. They felt the bike could be straightened and be quite ridable, but of course not perfect. Feeling that a Pike deserves better, I had Jackson’s replace the top and down tube before respraying the bike. Fork is a replacement (may be a Pike but I don’t know). It's lovely, high quality and rides fine. Rear drops are chrome Campy verticals. Color is Jackson’s forest green metallic, with gold lug lining. Jackson’s had the replacement Pike transfers. Old style Reynolds full 531 DB frame sticker, modern 531 fork leg decals (don’t ask me why). Bike probably has a thousand miles on it, so some marks on the paint. One chip on the seat tube, one teeny dent above the chip are the worst of it.

Lots of brazeons: Canti bosses, a rear brake cable stop/bridge, rack eyelets on the rear stays, fender eyelets, down tube gear lever clamp pip, under BB cable routing. Wonderful riding bike. Fairly short WB, hence I think it’s more of an Audax machine than a touring bike. Seat tube is 24.5 inches c-t, TT is 58cm, chainstays are 16.5 inches (hence the vertical drops), 101 cm wheelbase. Fenders are possible, but I had substantial toe overlap with fenders mounted (size 12 feet).

I'll hate myself, cometh the dawn to let this one go. Bid high, bid often. $200 reserve.
