I would guess "the rub" is that some of us think "its about the bikes", some think its some form of "business", and some think the two can be mixed easily without consideration of the other party's perspective. I've said before that e-bay has item-specific forums where people can chit chat it up about the e-bay trade, and been roundly drubbed for that. I've also benefitted from members sharing freely of their insight and (rarely) their stuff!
Some of us neglect to think that another (usually seller)'s time may be more important to them on a personal than business level, and because we have a credit card-ensured paypal account, we're somehow more "entitled" to expectations that are not common in most of the rest of the western world. Ask anyone who's been slapped with the reality of starting with a hobby and evolving (or attempting) it into a business. Customers can really suck, and some hobbiests just do not have the thick skin to take abuse by another when the other is convinced a source is there solely for a buyer's convenience.
Most folks say the best thing about our hobby is the people involved, and in our cynical moments might also state thats the worst thing about it! -smile- But one certainly canNOT say the same two things for the dollar aspect of our hobby.
